My name is Sherriffa Abass Kokkinidoy. As part of an art family, I grew up loving and appreciating everything art. Being extremely passionate myself it is very easy for me to express my thoughts, my emotions and personality through my art whether it was drawing and painting, writing poems and short stories or creating unique one of a kind art jewellery pieces and clothing.
I believe that we should proudly embrace our unique personalities and sense of style, to feel the freedom of being able to be ourselves and be able to express it with pride and not worried about what others think.
Strangely being an artist has thought me how easy it is to embrace and be happy with myself and accept others for who they are and choose to be. It has thought me that I can choose to express myself in many different ways but it’s so much easier when it’s comes straight for my heart.
Why the name Unik Design Jewellery? Well, one of my favourite quotes by Thich Nhat Hanh ( The Art of Power) is “To be Beautiful means to be yourself. You don’t need to be accepted by others, you need to accept Yourself.” As an artist, the freedom to honestly express how I truly feel and not worry about being validated is peace. I express myself with my unique jewellery designs and let people who appreciate my art come to me.
Each piece is created with lots of love, passion, excitement and joy and I hope that my customers experience the same emotions when they wear them. I don’t just create jewellery. I create art and tell a story and that’s what make each piece so unique as they tell their own unique story just like the unique personality who choose to wear them.
